I am happy to report that the station is now in broadcast mode now that we have successfully gained our permit to use recorded music and teed up a broadcasting host which now means that when you press the play button you will usually be able to listen to something.
We are experiencing breaks in our broadcasts from time to time which should not be happening, but they do. It is usually that we have an interruption of some sort on our end either due to one of the following; software updates, our mistakes or internet connection issues. As we become more familiar with our processes we hope these issues will be minimized.
Starting next week we hope to start broadcasting some live to air programs as indicated in the program schedule noted above. We will also start introducing community notices promoting local social events and events of interest happening in Gippsland. The radio station has started. Stage one of getting the bits and pices all working together has started. We are now embarking on stage two, where we will be developing and finessing a basic program structure.
I ask for your patience if we are not producing a high standard of broadcasting that you may be used to, it is because I am working on the principle of building a basic service and then refining that service by developing the skills and resources needed. It is a process of continuous improvement. We are not a big media company with capital and paid staff. This is a hobby broadcast service with ambitions to be a relevant and valued service primarily for the people of Gippsland.
