East Gippsland saw good rainfalls, recording twice their usual February average. Bairnsdale received 84 mm of rainfall in February mainly as a result of a rainfall event about the 10th of February where it recorded 55 mm over four days.
Leongatha in contrast experienced a dry month, recording 16 mm of rain being half of its long term average. Warragul in West Gippsland received 32 mm, close to its average.
Gippsland average maximums and minimums showed an increase of plus one degree above long term averages. This is a continues a trend that has been noticable over the last six months in reporting Gippsland weather.
Warragul was the warmest town in Gippsland in February averaging a maximum of 27.6 degrees, approx one degree more than other Gippsland towns.
