Machete used in Car Jacking

In an incident which is the first of its type for Warragul, a machete was allegedly used to threaten a parked driver in a Trumpy Lane car park at 10pm on Tuesday 24 September according to a report from the Warragul Gazette

The driver was assaulted and had his keys taken from him. He was required to go to hospital to treat a minor eye injury. His car was later seen at Narracan Drive, Moe where it is understood to have rammed a police car. It was later found burnt out at an address in Churchill.

Offenders had also earlier approached a woman in another vehicle nearby. She fled the scene and was not injured but her car window was damaged.

The Gazette reported Senior Sergeant Peter Watson said the incident hadn’t occurred in Warragul before. He said that it was a timely warning to, ”not sit, just go”.
