Programs
The Australian Country Music Show commenced last week. It is a show featuring as the title suggests, Australian country music in all its facets. This includes latest releases to the early recordings of country music. Live to air, Sunday 7 to 9 pm, and Monday 8 to 9 pm.
Off the Shelf is taking a rest at the moment due to a need to service or replace some equipment. I enjoyed this program, bringing to you other genres of the music collection and giving them some airtime.
On air hours have been reduced from 24 hours operation to programs commencing at 5 pm and concluding at 10:15 pm
Program commencement times will be changing by 1 hour due to the change in our local time from Daylight Saving Time to Australian Eastern Standard time on the 6th and 7th of April.
We are currently UTC+11 hours.
After the 7th April we will be UTC+10 hours
Technical
Regular listeners will have noticed frequent stuttering of material played to air. This is due to the computer having its memory overloaded and struggling to complete too many tasks.
Contributing to this issue is for some reason very regular software updates which then require time offline to install.
I have at the time of writing installed a second computer to take some of the load off and hopefully, this will alleviate some of the problem. A longer term solution will be to update the playout computer.
Before moving on take a look at the photo accompanying this post. You will notice it is a photo of Victoria and a number of smoke plumes from forest fires. Cast your mind back and can you name a date from when this photo was likely to have been taken?
Thank you,
Meine.
